To promote the sightseeing image of Gironde, the Conseil Général is primarily supported by
the Comité Départemental du Tourisme,
and all tourist offices located in the département.
Millions of people enjoy the attractions of Gironde
each year. Whether you are an inhabitant of Gironde
or a visitor who has just arrived, take a moment to get in touch with the Maison du Tourisme de la Gironde before you set
out to discover the area.
From river tourism to the development of architectural heritage or facilities
at tourist sites, the Conseil Général and Maison
du Tourisme de la Gironde
(headquarters of the Comité Départemental
du Tourisme) offer a year-round service and high-quality tourist offering
across the département.
Working in partnership with
professionals
The Comité
Départemental du Tourisme is an organisation which unites all tourist organisations in Gironde ...
Its aim is to promote the département to the inhabitants of Gironde, to national visitors (in partnership with the
tourist offices), and to European visitors (alongside the regional tourist
board).
It provides guidance and expertise to
professionals in the sector and supports different areas and organisations
while providing technical assistance and logistical support to associations
such as Gîtes de France, Clévacances, Logis de France and the Union Départementale des Offices de Tourisme.
Furthermore, it is involved in the
certification of the accommodation offering and oversees a range of tourist
labels (Bacchus, Tourisme et
Handicap, Vignobles et Chais en Bordelais) used to denote the
quality of the tourist offering.
An observatory
The Comité
Départemental du Tourisme also monitors tourist news across the département and contributes to studies related to accommodation,
customer behaviour and economic trends.
In certain areas, it conducts assessments,
gives technical guidance and oversees the project management of certain
studies.
New
The Bureau d'accueil des tournages de la Gironde has recently been created to manage
the promotion of Gironde to producers of national
and international films. The organisation constitutes a significant driving
force for the tourism and cultural economic development of the département.
